Amberthief (Rasmus Bak, b. 1980) is a Danish songwriter, composer and producer. He has written music for Danish and foreign films, TV, commercials, computer games and dressage competitions as well as created sound design for apps.
In the early '00s, Amberthief began to seriously take on the path of music: as a lead singer in the rock band Chrome Shift, he released his debut album and gave concerts at festivals in Europe. While studying music at Aarhus University, he became a resident sound engineer at the university's sound studios. He also starred in several musicals and this sparked his interest in orchestral music.
After making music for an advert, he decided to educate himself as a film composer. This came to happen in Bristol, England, where he qualified in classical orchestration. The combination of these skills and a background in rock and pop allowed him to compose across a variety of genres throughout the 2010s.
Since 2018, Amberthief has been affiliated with Iceberg Music Group as an in-house composer and songwriter. He is very active as a singer and guitarist, both live and in studio sessions.
